2021 Activities
Mission Outreach
Our 2021 Confirmation class mission project involved the entire church. This community outreach opportunity was born after a United Methodist Women’s meeting. We were talking about ways we could take the love of Christ outside of these four walls. Rhonda Atha arranged for a representative from the Walton County Department of Family and Children Services to speak to the women. The statistics are staggering. There is a great need for foster families. There is also a need for items to help children who find themselves in a foster home in the middle
of the night.
The DFCS rep gave us a list of items they needed to help the children. We were discussing this need during our recent confirmation class, when we decided to make it our churchwide mission project. We had more donations than we could count of sheets, and towels, pillows and pampers, all to share the love of Christ with Foster Children in Walton County. Thank you for making a difference.

Honoring Women of God
Thank you to Michele Buckles Thrasher for making this beautiful shadow box featuring jewelry from some of the women of Union Chapel. Her tribute will be on loan to us, and will be on display in the fellowship hall soon (stay tuned for details.) She also has a book noting who wore each piece of jewelry used in the display.
We hope to have Michele join us at one of our women’s meetings in the fall to hear more stories of these
women of faith and action.
